Dam Dam Dam

30"x24"
I sketched three different pictures of the dam at different angles. There are two different pictures at the corners, and one at the bottom. Then I started painting the top left corner dam in different shades of blue. The top is super dark blue, then under that is dark blue, then a couple of stripes of light is blue and and light blue, the rest of upper face is dark blue. I finished painting the upper face of the dam in a lighter blue. I started painting the lower part of  where the water shoots out. On the two end sections of the dam is a lighter blue. The top of the concrete spillway on both end sections is a lighter blue. The sides are a lighter blue. The middle section is a darker blue because light isn't hitting it. The top is dark blue and the side is a lighter blue. Then I started painting the dam on the right. I painted the top of the dam in light blue. The four supports on the upper right side is a lighter blue. The middle crest road thing in the middle of the dam is mostly a lighter blue, but small portions is light blue. The top upper left side face of the dam the row of z shaped supports are a light blue. I am still working on the right. Inside the z shapes structures I painted I super dark blue at the top and dark blue at the bottom. Those areas are darker because they don't get any light. I painted those open space where the support poles are also darkest blue toward the top and lighter blue toward the bottom right of the dam is super dark blue and dark blue. I finished the dam on the right. I painted the L shaped structures light and lighter blue. I painted the bottom dam. I painted the solid concrete spillway at the lower part of the dam a lighter dam. The spaces in between the concrete spillways is super dark blue. I painted some of the areas on the upper dam a pretty bright dark blue. I painted the super dark blue areas pretty dark blue. I finished painting the spaces in between the concrete spillway on the bottom dam super dark blue. I painted the upper face of the same dam light blue. I painted the water a different medium blue by mixing white, blue, and pretty dark blue. I repainted most of the parts on the dam on the left side. I repainted the the crest, the L shaped bottom spillway, and the darkest area on the dam a pretty dark blue. On the bottom dam I painted pretty bright dark blue for the darkest shades on the curved image of the dam's face. On the bottom dam I painted the highlight next to the dark blue shades light neon blue. The light blue part is on the upper face of the dam. The lower part of the dam is a lighter neon blue next to the darkest blue stripes. On the left side of the dam I painted some upper part of the dam pure neon blue, lighter neon blue, and some light neon blue. On the lower part of the dam I painted the darker part of the spillway pure neon blue. The lighter part of the spillway is a lighter neon blue and light blue. On the dam on the right I finished the Z and L shaped structure on the dam in light neon blue. I painting the spray from the all the three dams white first, then put baby blue shading on the on the bottom of the spray both the right and the left dams. On the bottom dam, the spray of the water overlaps parts of the left dam. The sprays on the left side of the dam, the shadows on the right side. The shadow on the water on the right side of the dam is on the left side. I painted the gantry cranes, antlers, and a strip of water along the bottom white, then painted everything red orange. This painting is called Dam, Dam, Dam. This painting was finished on December 28, 2012. This painting is bright with contrasting oranges and blues.
