I sketched in a peacock from a photo. I sketched in antlers for the peacock's wings. I painted the background in different shades of green. It goes from dark at the top to light at the bottom. It took awhile because I had to paint in between antlers and it's a big canvas. I repainted the background to make it more vibrant. The top is very dark green. Under the dark green is green. Under the green is light green. The bottom is a very light green. I painted the peacock's body a light yellow orange, almost like a peach color. I painted the body twice to make it look brighter. The antlers go light to dark. The antlers are yellow orange at the top, orange at the center, and orange red at the bottom. I repainted the peacock's antler tail twice to make it more vibrant. It goes light to dark. The top of the antlers is yellow orange, middle is orange, and bottom is red orange. It took awhile because the antlers are skinny at the top. The antler tail is really contrast with the background. I painted the peacock body by blotching in the feathers. I blotched in the left side and under side yellow orange for shadows. I blotched the right and the top side a white yellow for highlights. I put shadows on all the left side of the peacock's feet. I put highlights on all the right side of the peacock. I painted the peacock's eyes, beak, and the fan like feathers on the peacock's head a light bright blue. The shadow on the bottom of the beak is dark blue. I painted white blue highlights on the top of the beak. I put highlights and shadows on the fan feathers on the top of the peacock's head. The highlights are white blue and the shadows are dark blue. I repainted the moon a lighter blue with white on the right side. I finished this painting on September 14. 2012. This is called Blue Moon Peacock. The color on the background and the peacock stand out because they contrast. It looks like the peacock is dancing.
