Antler Fairy

I sketched in antlers for the fairy's wings from a photo. The fairy is holding an antler. I sketched in antler shoes, belt, necklace, and the shirt, etc. I drew in an antler hat. I painted the the sky a medium bright blue. It took awhile to paint because of the antlers. I had to paint around the stars. I painted the moon orange first, then red strokes then orange over it. I painted over the moon again with pure orange. I followed the moon's rounded with curved brush strokes. Then I painted the leaf dark olive green. My brush strokes followed the vein of the leaf. I painted the tips of the leaf and the leaf's stem yellow orange. Then I painted the fairy's outfit pure lime green. The hardest part was painting around the antlers on the moon and on the fairy's outfit. I painted everything twice to make it stand out better. I painted the stars white. I painted white orange around the edge of the moon. I painted the fairy's skin a light blue. I painted all the antlers black twice, then white on all the left sides for highlights. The antlers took a long time because I had to paint the tines, kickers, down tines, and the main beam twice carefully. I finished painting white highlights on the antlers. Then I painted white highlights on all the left side of the leaf's veins to show where the moonlight is shining on. Then I painted white tips on the leaf. The tips look like candy corn. I painted a thin black line around the tips. I painted white ovals and circles on the leaf. The circles are the same color as the fairy's outfit. The ovals are the same color as the moon. I painted  little dots in the fairy's eyes. I finished this painting on April 7, 2012. This painting is called Antler Fairy. The leaf and the antler fairy and the moon kind of match by its color for balance.
