I sketched the parrot with a pencil. I blocked in the macaw colors, like red, yellow, blue. I painted the background just plain bright orange. I painted the antlers lime green. We painted the top and bottom of the parrot bright blue. I painted the middle section of bird a darker blue.We painted the blotches baby blue on the top and bottom of the bird. We jagged up the background by repeating the outline of the bird with red, orange, and yellow. We put a white dot on the baby blue blotches and then a tiny green dot in the middle. We painted the top of the beak, feet, and stump pure white, and then we painted lime green. We painted areas green to balance the colors. We painted red orange on the yellow section of bird.I painted the bottom part of the beak black and orange. We put a tiny white dot in the eye. I mainly did detail around the dots on bird with a felt pen marker. I drew feathers on the orange middle of the parrot. I drew wood marker like on a log on the stump the bird was sitting on. I drew around the antlers and I was done. This painting is vibrant with bright colors and very interesting because of the details. I love this painting because the blue and the orange contrast. This painting took 3 sessions to complete. I finished this painting on November 2, 2010.
