Parrot with antlers

I sketched the parrot with a pencil. I blocked in the macaw colors, like red, yellow, blue. I painted the background just plain bright orange. I painted the antlers lime green. We painted the top and bottom of the parrot bright blue. I painted the middle section of bird a darker blue.We painted the blotches baby blue on the top and bottom of the bird. We jagged up the background by repeating the outline of the bird with red, orange, and yellow. We put a white dot on the baby blue blotches and then a tiny green dot in the middle. We painted the top of the beak, feet, and stump pure white, and then we painted lime green. We painted areas green to balance the colors. We painted red orange on the yellow section of bird.I painted the bottom part of the beak black and orange. We put a tiny white dot in the eye. I mainly did detail around the dots on bird with a felt pen marker. I drew feathers on the orange middle of the parrot. I drew wood marker like on a log on the stump the bird was sitting on. I drew around the antlers and I was done. This painting is vibrant with bright colors and very interesting because of the details. I love this painting because the blue and the orange contrast. This painting took 3 sessions to complete. I finished this painting on November 2, 2010.

Antlers impale all the way through

First, I sketched the animal and then the antlers. The antlers are black. I painted the background lime green and the animal is bright orange. The antlers are impaling the animal all the way through. The orange and the lime green are eye popping because they contrast with each other. The antlers dominate the painting because they are black. I chose antlers because love antlers, and they're my style and my trademark. I didn't use felt marker this time because  it looks good and pops out at you because the lime green and bright orange is colliding. I used pencil and acrylic paint. This painting is loud and violent. I love bright colors. This painting took 2 sessions because it was simple. I finished this painting on September 1, 2010.

Zebra with Antlers

This painting is called Zebra with Antlers. I got this zebra head from a photo. The zebra has unique large yellow-green antlers. Zebras don't have antlers in real life but I put antlers on it to make it more interesting and I love animals with antlers. The antlers on every animal I paint is my trademark. This would be perfect for Christmas because the background is red and the head of zebra is green with black stripes. The painting is loud and charming. The zebra is kind and loving. The bright green zebra contrast with the bright red background because red and green are opposite on the color wheel. This painting took 3 sessions because of painting the green and black stripes in, painting the antlers, painting the red background around the zebra and the antlers. This is my favorite painting because the green and the red and the yellow-green antlers stand out together. I used acrylic paint and felt pen marker on the antlers and the muzzle. I finished this painting on August 17,2010.

Colorful Zebras

This painting is called Colorful Zebras. The painting has warm colors for the background and the 3 zebras has cool colors. The background colors are: shades of red, orange, and yellow. The zebras on the left and middle is sky blue color with black stripes and antlers. The one on the right is green color with black stripes and antlers. This painting is bright and loud because the warm colors like red, orange, and yellow collide with cool colors like blue and green. The black stripes and antlers help the zebras stand out with the background. I blended red, orange, and yellow into the background. I outlined the top of the 3 zebras in yellow. I outlined under the zebra's belly, legs, and under the muzzle in red. There is red shadows under the zebra's feet to show that light is not shining there. The 2 blue zebras look angry and the green zebra is happy. This is one of my favorite paintings because of the background colors collide with the zebra's colors and the antlers on the zebras look. It took 4 session because of drawing in the zebras, painting in their stripes, blending the background colors, and repainting the stripes of zebras to make it more intense. I used acrylic paint and felt pen marker. I finished the painting on July 27, 2010.

I painted the severely damaged palace shades of pink, red, white, and purple. This painting is interesting, sad, and colorful. I took my time drawing the palace, painting the colors, the damage to the crumbled palace like cracks, collapsed upper portion of the palace, the night sky, and the pink and purple grass. Moon Buffalo with Antlers

This painting is called Moon Buffalo with Antlers. I used dark to light sideways instead top to bottom. I did the opposite with the buffalo. This painting looks like the moon when you look at it in the distance. This was a water buffalo with antlers. The left side of the buffalo is dark blue and purple, and the background is a lighter blue. The other side of the buffalo is opposite. This painting is a cool painting because blue is a cold color. Hoover Dam

This painting is called Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is a very big dam on the Colorado River, 30 miles from Las Vegas. The dam's intake towers contrasts with the blue lake. The dam stands out against the cliffs, because the cliffs are black with lemon-yellow stripes going down toward the powerhouses. The dam looks so realistic to the photo. The water that is flowing out below looks like it's flowing water because it has shadows and highlights in it. My brush strokes are flowing downward to show that the water is coming out into the river. The orange and purple powerhouses stands out against the water because orange and blue are opposite of the color wheel. I used tube paint. This painting took 2 sessions.
